The One App Every Truck Driver Should Have

If you drive a truck for a living, Trucker Path is one of the few apps that actually earns a permanent spot on your phone. It has helped me find parking more times than I can count.

The One App Every Truck Driver Should Have

If you’ve been out here for any length of time, you know truck parking can turn into a problem real quick.

Everything looks fine until about 8 or 9 at night.

Then every Love’s, Pilot, and Flying J starts showing full.

Your clock is running down.

You’ve still got miles to go.

And suddenly you’re trying to figure out where you’re going to put this truck.

That’s where Trucker Path has saved me more times than I can count.

If you’ve never used it, you can check it out here: https://truckerpath.com.

I’m not getting paid to say this. I just use the app, and it works.

Finding Parking When You Need It Most

The feature I use the most is parking availability.

Is it perfect? No.

Truck parking changes by the minute, and all it takes is one shift change and twenty trucks rolling in to turn “plenty” into “good luck, buddy.”

But it gives you a much better idea of what you’re getting into before you burn the fuel and commit to an exit.

More than once, I’ve used Trucker Path to find parking when all the major truck stops were packed.

That alone makes it worth having.

Weigh Station Status

I also check the weigh station status.

Sometimes it helps with trip planning.

Sometimes it just lets me know whether I need to mentally prepare for a possible inspection.

And if we’re being honest, it’s nice seeing “closed” pop up on the screen.

A small victory, but truckers learn to appreciate those.

Driver Reviews

Another feature I use all the time is the driver reviews.

Other drivers will tell you:

  • Whether parking is tight
  • If the showers are clean
  • How the food is
  • Whether the place is worth stopping at

That kind of information is gold when you’re on the road.

Fuel Prices and Route Planning

Trucker Path also shows fuel prices and offers route planning tools.

I don’t use every feature every day, but the parking and scale information alone are enough to keep it installed on my phone.

Is Trucker Path Worth It?

For me, absolutely.

When you’re down to the last hour on your clock and every truck stop looks full, having a tool that helps you find a place to park is worth its weight in gold.

Final Thoughts

There are a lot of trucking apps out there.

Some are useful.

Some are bloated.

Some seem designed mainly to send you notifications you never asked for.

Trucker Path is one of the few apps I actually rely on.

If you’re a new driver or you’ve been doing this for years, it’s one app every truck driver should have.
